Angelos Varthalitis

Angelos Varthalitis is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at the Netherlands-based Ovivio NL. With over 20 years of experience in information security, IT strategy, and cyber resilience, he has led successful security transformations across high-growth and mission-critical environments.

At Ovivio NL, he has designed and implemented a comprehensive information security strategy, embedding Privacy and Security by Design principles throughout the product and software lifecycles. His expertise spans developing and operating modern SOC capabilities (MxDR, SIEM, SOAR), securing applications and CI/CD pipelines, and driving compliance with stringent regulatory frameworks and certifications such as GDPR, ISO, and ISAE. Angelos is highly recognized for his ability to bridge deep technical cybersecurity with executive-level business strategy and decision-making.

Most recently, he authored a practical, action-oriented book on NIS2 compliance tailored for SMEs.
